You know when you get a wink from someone you love? It feels like your heart starts to warm
up your whole body. What about when you are in the worst mood ever and all the sudden you get a wink from a friend? You can't help but smile or giggle a little bit. Well, this may seem crazy, but I believe God winks.
"For we live by faith, not by sight" -2 Corinthians 5:7
We cannot see God but we can see His hand in everything from nature to our own life experiences. Think about...The sunlight shining through a dark sky. A flower that grows out of gravel. The rainbow after a storm. The impossible becoming possible. The worst moments becoming the best. These are just a few reasons that I know God is winking.
Why else do I believe God winks? Let's start at the very beginning.
On October 22, 1997, a little girl was born. Well, I bet y'all could guess who that was. Yep, it was me! Before I was born, my mom tried to have children for seven years. After constant prayer and wanting to start her journey as the best mom ever, she adopted my older brother and then my older sister. All of the sudden, she started to feel sick, went to the doctor and surprise... she was pregnant with me! I am her little wink from God. Her little reminder that the impossible is possible with God. The darkest moments in life have a light at the end of the tunnel. The greatest of hurts is a just chapter in your story, not the whole story.
So if you really think about it... maybe I was born into this ministry and didn't even know it. A ministry dedicated to seeking God's winks, purpose, and love in our everyday lives.
The tricky thing about a wink is that it only lasts a quick second. If we want to see God's winks in our lives, we have to slow down and pay attention. We have to set our minds on things above, focus on the Lord, and look for them. Then, I have a feeling you will be able to see God's winks in your life too. His sweet reminders that He is still here with you and has never left.
After a lot of prayer, I have decided to start this blog to form a community of women looking for God's winks, purpose, and love in our lives and in scripture. So let's do life together!
Love,
Just Jillian ;)
Thanks for the reminder! 😘
